Liz Carmouche vs Vanessa Porto goes down on April 9th at Bellator 256.
News of the flyweight fight was confirmed by a promotional official to MMA Fighting. This following an initial report via Fansided MMA.
Carmouche looks for her sophomore victory under the Bellator banner here. Girl-Rilla won her promotional debut against DeAnna Bennett at Bellator 246 in September.
Liz Carmouche looks to build off of that third-round rear-naked choke victory and advance further in Bellator’s flyweight hierarchy. She is a veteran of several circuits including UFC, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC to name a few.
While Porto is making her Bellator MMA debut here, she enters with the pedigree of being the Invicta FC flyweight champion.
The thirty-fight veteran cut her teeth in Jungle Fight before embarking on a seven-year-plus journey with Invicta FC. This tenure culminated in winning gold at 125 lbs and now Porto looks for new challenges within Bellator MMA.
Vanessa Porto last competed in November 2019 when she defeated Karina Rodriguez via unanimous decision at Invicta FC 38. She has fought some of the very best that the game has to offer.

Carmouche challenged for UFC championships in two different weight divisions.
She has the distinction of being in the first-ever women’s fight in promotional history when she fell in a valiant effort to Ronda Rousey. This came in a bantamweight championship bout at UFC 157.
Liz Carmouche’s second title bid came in the flyweight division. She lost a rematch with reigning titlist Valentina Shevchenko in August 2019, evening their series up 1-1. This defeat results in Carmouche being ousted from the promotion.

Vanessa Porto has garnered several victories against Roxanne Modafferi, Pearl Gonzalez, Jennifer Maia, Tara LaRosa. Plus, Germaine de Randamie, Hitomi Akano, and Tonya Evinger.
Also recently announced for Bellator 256 is a significant featherweight bout between Cat Zingano and Olivia Parker.
