WWE has locked down the trademark rights to the name of an NXT star.
The company filed for ‘Santana Garrett’ on May 19th under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. It should be noted that this is her real name. Here is the description:
Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
Garrett worked as an enhancement talent for WWE from 2013–2018 before she was signed to a contract to work in NXT in August 2019.
She was last seen in action on NXT TV when she dropped a loss to Mercedes Martinez in July 2020. Her last match came this past January when she worked this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
