Coming off of an exciting spring season of Junior Team Tennis, USTA Florida is preparing to welcome players back onto the courts for the upcoming fall 2021 season. Junior Leagues in several Florida communities resume in early-to-mid September and run through November.

“After a successful spring season with leagues running in nine areas, we decided to expand a bit more,” shared USTA Florida Youth Team Play Manager Liz Spicer. “This season we have new leagues taking place in Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. We’re always looking for opportunities to bring Junior Team Tennis to players throughout the state.”

Established in 1991, USTA Junior Team Tennis provides youth ages 6-18 with all of the health and social benefits of tennis in a coed, fun and competitive team environment — all while allowing participants to compete with and against individuals of similar ages and skill levels. The programs foster social skills, team player, cooperation and individual self-growth.

“Junior Team Tennis is a great opportunity for players to meet new people, get a lot of match play, and have fun,” adds Spicer. “Players will learn about unity, sportsmanship, and how to work together to achieve success on the court.”

Leagues are currently available in the following areas:

  • Brevard County
  • Broward/Palm Beach Counties (information coming soon!)
  • Duval/St. John’s Counties
  • Marion County (information coming soon!)
  • Martin/St. Lucie Counties (information coming soon!)
  • Miami-Dade County
  • Orange/Seminole Counties
  • Pinellas/Hillsborough Counties
  • Volusia/Flagler Counties (information coming soon!)

Although the 2021 USTA Junior Team Tennis National Championships is canceled, all teams and/or players who play in a USTA Florida Junior Team Tennis program are eligible to enter the 2021 JTT Fall State Championships, to be held Dec. 4-5, 2021, at the Racquet Club of Cocoa Beach.

For more information on Junior Team Tennis, visit www.ustaflorida.com/JTT. For questions about the program or if you’re interested in starting a JTT league in your area, please contact Liz Spicer at spicer@ustaflorida.com.
