Ferrari is approaching the end of a two-sided Formula 1 season, which began with some great triumphs for Charles Leclerc in Bahrain and Australia, which led everyone to hope in a title challenge against Red Bull.
Unfortunately, the season instead developed in a very different way, with potential victories thrown to the wind due to strategy errors, reliability problems and also a car that, after the summer break, struggled to match Red Bull’s performance. Despite these ups and downs that have caused some discontent for the fans, the Prancing Horse is experiencing its best season, in terms of victories, since 2018. The credit, in addition to the strengths of the F1-75, also goes to the two drivers from Maranello: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Two drivers in which Ferrari has put its faith, as evidenced by their current contracts (both Charles and Carlos have contracts available until the end of the 2024 championship), and as also confirmed by Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto.
In a recent interview at the Trento Sport Festival, organized by the Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, the boss of the Ferrari pit wall praised the two drivers of the Maranello team, but at the same time encouraged them to do even better: “What more could I ask from them? More wins. But they are the best driver line-up that exists in Formula 1. Precisely for how they get along with each other and for the contribution they make, for how they help each other. I also see it during the practice and qualifying sessions, during the race weekends. When we discuss on Friday or Saturday, after practice, about what one feels and what the other feels, a completely open discussion takes place. Both know – pointed out Mattia Binotto – that improving our car and our team basically means trying to beat our rivals.” – he added.
